Fun Ride at Cornhill

We had a fantastic turnout for the fun ride at Cornhill with over 50 riders attending and assembling at the farm before heading off on a ride through Reskadinnick and Tehidy Woods before turning around behind Trengrove Farm and heading back through the woods were we met a number of Saturday strollers with many children attempting to count all of the riders- nearly impossible! From the woods, the ride went along the Red River track coming out at Menadarva, and by special permission riding along the old track then cutting through farmland to Nancemellin before arriving at the far end of Cornhill Farm. There, with spectators watching, the new cross country jumps waited to be tested! It was amazing how many horses found such a sudden spurt of energy and something resembling the charge of the light brigade took place! Although a few riders departed from the saddle, there were no serious casualties and the ride ended with a pasty and a cup of tea back at the trailers.

Huge thanks must go to everyone who helped prepare the course by either jump building, course prep or helped on the day with the ride and refreshments not to mention the many sponsors who have assisted with the course so far.
